Cape Regional Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for Wound Care by demonstrating excellence and meeting The Joint Commission’s national standards for healthcare quality and safety in disease specific care. The certification recognizes Cape Regional Medical Center’s dedication to continuous improvement and its effective use of clinical practice guidelines and national standards.

“Wound Services is a hospital-wide program based on clinical guidelines and designed to meet the highest Joint Commission standards.  Measures for identification, prevention and treatment of wounds are included for patient care from hospital admission thorough discharge,” explains Judith Horn, PT, DPT, MS, GCS, Certified Wound Specialist and Wound Services Program Manager. “Patients in the community can attend outpatient services for wound care and education on many types of conditions.  Joint Commission certification validates our interdisciplinary and organizational wide processes for excellence in program management and delivery of clinical care.”
