Cape Regional Medical Center Awarded Accreditation from The Joint Commission

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – March 1, 2010 - Cape Regional Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval by demonstrating compliance with national standards for healthcare quality and safety.

The Joint Commission is dedicated to continuously improving the safety and quality of the nation’s healthcare through voluntary accreditation. The Joint Commission’s on-site survey of Cape Regional Medical Center occurred in September, 2009.

“The national standards are intended to stimulate continuous, systematic and organization-wide improvement in an organization’s performance and the outcomes of care,” stated Mark Pelletier, R.N., M.S., Executive Director of Hospital Programs, Accreditation and Certification Services, The Joint Commission.  “The community should be proud that Cape Regional Medical Center is focusing on the most challenging goal – to continuously raise quality and safety to higher levels.”

Cape Regional Medical Center is an affiliate of the University of Pennsylvania Health System for Cancer Care and Cardiac Care, accredited by The Joint Commission with their Gold Seal of Approval and an Accredited Chest Pain Center.
