Auxilians -- a Unique Group of Volunteers Most people have at least some idea of what healthcare volunteers do. But many don't know about the work of a special group of volunteers, those that belong to the medical center Auxiliary. Cape Regional Medical Center Auxiliary has a proud history. Back in 1951, a group of women stepped in to raise funds that would help the hospital become a reality. To continue this financial support for necessary healthcare services, women and men in Cape May County grouped together and formed our present Auxiliary. The Auxiliary's Board was formed to help expand and coordinate the activities begun by numerous individuals. The present-day Auxiliary has five branches. Activities sponsored by the Auxiliary include operation of the Et Cetera and Gift Shops. All branches assist Board-sponsored fundraising projects as well as additional projects of their own. Monies raised by the branches are presented to the hospital. Over the years the Auxiliary contributions have helped build the Early Education Center, the helipad, the pediatrics department and most recently the Emergency Room and Cancer Care Center Expansions, in addition to new equipment for various departments. The Auxiliary welcomes your inquiries for more information on membership and its activities. Please call 609-463-2367. To join please call 609-463-2367. Or check out our free brochure
