The Health Careers Exploring program offers a wide range of career experiences in the following areas: Oncology, Interventional Radiology, Operating Room and Surgical Services, Laboratory Medicine, Physical Therapy, Concussion Care, Pharmacy, MRI and Imaging Services, Respiratory Services, Exercise Physiology....these are just a few of the health careers available for youth to participate in.
Medical Explorers Criteria
Start Date: November 19, 2019
Schedule: First and Third Tuesday of the Month
Time: 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
End Date: April 7, 2020
Fee: $15.00/student—includes T-Shirt and end of year celebration
Program will consist of a brief educational session followed by tours to various departments and presentations by Cape Regional Team Members. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers. Calendar attached.
Open to ALL High School Students. Program is limited to the first 30 enrolled and paid participants. Checks made out to Cape Regional Foundation.
Shadowing experiences in patient care areas will be offered as follows:
After April 23rd
Student must be a senior in high school
Student must be 18 years old (a 17 year old graduating will be considered)
Student must have attended 80% of monthly sessions
Student and/or adult must sign knowledge of confidentiality statement
Physician approval required
Patient/Family approval required where applicable
One student at a time
Shadowing experiences in non-patient care areas will be considered throughout the program with or without minor exceptions.
