Hospitalist Services

When a loved one is in the hospital, it can sometimes feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. There's a lot of information to keep track of—including specialists, tests and what will happen after discharge.

At Cape Regional Health System, we have a staff of hospitalists who help make hospital stays smoother and more coordinated for patients and their families. That can translate to more information for families, higher-quality care for patients and the ability to return home sooner.

What Does a Hospitalist do?

Hospitalists are hospital-based physicians who dedicate their time to caring for hospital inpatients. They work closely with other specialists and departments within the hospital to organize patient treatment and monitor patient progress. They also work with primary care doctors to coordinate care after a patient goes home.

Because hospitalists are in the hospital throughout the day, they can track patients more closely and quickly make adjustments to their care. They're also more available to answer questions from patients and their families—so you can rest assured knowing exactly what's going on.

Our Hospitalist Physicians

Cape Regional Health System's hospitalists are board-certified physicians who work directly with specialists and other departments within the medical center. Our hospitalists are on staff 24/7, so they're prepared to deal with emergencies anytime.
